1+4 diet program

“Obesity is not a disease “

The problem is not being overweight but having excessive fat on the body.Diet Program in Burwood East

The approach to weight loss in Chinese Medicine will depend on the individual’s body constitution. Every individual’s constitution differs from another. It means there will be different cause depending on the individual. Therefore, Chinese Medicine does not address excess weight alone but deals with the possible body condition that leads to being overweight. We consider there will be an intrinsic imbalance between food consumption and physical activity that leads to an excess accumulation of fat. As we restore the internal functional balance through 1+4 diet program, which means, besides losing weight,

we expect to have four other effects such as

  • Anti-aging
  • Purification of Blood
  • Strengthening the Immune system
  • Improving Skin health

Therefore we aim to provide our clients with not just weight loss but also with restoring health
in order to prevent further diseases caused by being overweight and improving their quality of life.

Like every therapeutic method for weight loss, there is no single remedy in TCM to promote weight loss. We use different modalities in combination to facilitate weight loss.

Our Diet Program includesgoji, diet, weight loss, natural herbs

  • Herbal medicine according to individual constitution
  • Acupuncture
  • Diet / Nutrition therapy
  • Diet supplements (Sunsik; 선식)
  • Life Style / Exercise Advice
  • Mind-Mood-Body solution

This program is designed to follow TCM principles such as

  • Maintaining positive energy flow
  • Fortifying energy to raise metabolism
  • Restoring harmony in the stomach
  • Activating Blood flow to lower the lipid content within the blood and on blood vessel walls
  • Eliminating excess waste / toxicity, etc

It is important to keep in mind, however, that weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight is only possible with adequate exercise and proper diet. This point is held in both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The advantage of TCM is its holistic approach on the body, providing the answer to maintaining a healthy weight for good.

Keep the rules

Eat Healthy food that supplies full of Qi (Vital Energy)

Try to eat healthy food like fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain and organic meat. Healthy food produces healthy life energy. And avoid refined, artificially processed food such as fast food. The quality of food should be emphasized as much as quantity

Keep regular meal time

Irregular meals confuse your body with Energy processing. Balanced and regular meals are integral to overall health. Don’t skip your meal time to let your body balance out your energy system.

Eat slowly and mindfully

Take enough time and enjoy the meal mindfully. Sitting position is always better while you eat, and chew thoroughly to enhance the digestion. Try to avoid any distraction like TV, newspaper, computer.

Do not skip breakfast

3 meals in a day is in accordance with your body’s natural rhythms. Ancient Chinese books suggest eating breakfast like a king, lunch like an emperor and dinner like beggar. It means eating a proper breakfast that is not just a cup of milk or coffee but solid healthy food between 7 to 9 a.m. Breakfast is the energy source to start a day and having solid food requires chewing, which stimulates the brain and wakes up your bio-rhythm. Lunch is the prime time for physical and physiological activity of the body. Dinner is intergrade time to the night when our physiological activities take a rest. Heavy dinner at a time when our body is resting physiologically will lead to stocking up of extra fat on the body and overloading the stomach.

Go to bed by 11 p.m.

Sleeping is an important factor to weigh loss. When asleep, our internal organs take a rest with the minimum functional activities, and reorganise the body to get ready for tomorrow. Especially taking deep sleep before 1 am allows the Liver to fully detoxify through the body. In Chinese Medicine, between 1 and 3 am is the time for the Liver to clean blood.

Engage in gentle exercise

Natural quick walking, Yoga, Qi gong etc…Choose a type of exercise that suits you, in order to enhance burning of fat and bring your energy back into balance. However, immoderate exercise can cause an overproduction of oxygen free-radicals which can lead to inflammation.

Let the mind free

When many people are stressed out they crave and compulsively eat. Avoid any trigger factors that distract your mind and try not to engage in emotional eating.
